Reserved Matters were approved at Planning Committee that entail the demolition of existing buildings, site remediation, repositioning of existing vehicular access, the delivery of 71 residential units, centrally located open space. The amended layout delivers a greater amount of private and public amenity space when compared with the layout supported in support of the outline planning permission approved in 2018.
The application site represents one of the North West’s best development opportunities by virtue of the site’s generous housing plots and abundance of private and public amenity space, with the homes benefiting from wonderful views across Lough Foyle. The application site is approximately 4.6 hectares and is located within the development limits of the village of Newbuildings.
The surrounding area is characterised by housing on three sides, to the north, south and east, at Stoneypath, Woodside Park, Rock Park and at Victoria Road. A small number of retail units are in close proximity whilst the village centre is a short walk from the site.
